Beltway Update: Keeping Tabs on Regulatory and Policy Issues that Impact Wood Pellet Manufacturing and Use

The wood pellet industry is well-aligned with the ambitions of the Biden White House, or so it would seem. That said, there is risk for wood pellet heating to be left out of the clean energy tax provisions that seem likely to rise from the ashes of the Build Back Better spending package. The Pellet Fuels Institute and its partners are hard at work to make sure that any investment and support of clean energy technologies recognizes the economic and environmental benefit of wood pellet production and use.

3:30 – 4:30 PM The Pellet Fuels Institute’s Annual Conversation with Producer Members

Our producer’s panel serves as annual touchstone to identify, discuss and weigh the impact of the topics most prevalent in our industry today. Last year panelists shared the impact of inflation across the supply chain and increasingly tight labor markets. This year will find the industry exiting a lackluster winter, plenty of inventory on the ground but turbulence and potential opportunity in the global wood pellet market.
